The Story Behind the Series
Memoirs of the Living began years earlier as Serie Vivos, a fantasy saga originally published in Spanish.
The first book, Desterrados (Swept Far), was born from fragments of unforgettable dreams and memories that lingered long after childhood and adolescence had passed. While trying to make sense of her own story, the author poured questions of loss, belonging, and hope into what would eventually become her debut novel.
A year later came Vivos (Alive – coming soon). Written during a season marked by betrayal, abandonment, uncertainty, and fear, the second installment explores what remains when the foundations of life begin to crack beneath one’s feet.
Years afterward, Valientes (Brave – Forthcoming) completed the trilogy’s original arc. For the author, it became a story not about the past, but about what may exist beyond it. At its heart lies a simple question: what becomes possible when we finally let go of everything that wounds, confuses, angers, and burdens us, and dare to lift our eyes toward the light?
Today, that same story continues through Memoirs of the Living, reaching new readers while carrying the heart of the original work with it.
